Putty Framed Windows

Old putty windows are one of the most difficult windows to install window film on. When the old putty becomes wet, it becomes a sandy mess. Here are a few simple steps to help you clean this type of window frame:

Putty frame example
1) Spray the center of the window only with mounting solution and using your scraper, scrape the window but avoid touching the putty.

2) Once the glass is scraped, wipe the edges of the window with a new paper towel.

3) Next, gently wipe the putty frame with a clean, dry paper towel.

4) Lightly spray the window again with solution and squeegee off the water.

5) Dry any remaining water on the window with a paper towel and continue with your installation.
