« It is estimated that there are 500,000 detectable earthquakes in the world each year. 100,000 of those can be felt, and 100 of them cause damage ».
There is very little warning when an earthquake will occur and no way prepare for the damage that can happen. One of the most serious nonstructural dangers is glass breakage in the affected area. Many injuries and lives are lost due to these natural disasters. Earthquakes cause building structures to shake and twist. This type of motion can easily shatter windows in their frames creating hazardous conditions during and after the earthquake.
